Strategic partnership in flowers import and distribution between Switzerland and The Netherlands

Basle, Altishofen, Oegstgeest. The agreement aims at developing the shared interests of the three partners in the very specific cut-flowers logistics business. Together, the three partners offer to the Swiss flowers market an integrated and reliable import chain and distribution system, key elements to grow the sales of a very fragile product like cut flowers whose lifespan is very short.

The three family owned business have been active in this segment for more than half a century and can thus boast an unequalled competence in the transport, handling and customs processing of this delicate product. Speed, reliability of the transport environment and handling are the determining factors to bring flowers in perfect condition on the market.

Serving the wholesale and retail flowers market
By entering this agreement, the three partners join forces, experience and competence to offer the Swiss cut flowers wholesale and retail market an outstanding quality of services:

  • Supply reliability of the import chain is brought into the system by Van der Luyt Transport in Oegstgeest, NL, a recognized specialist of conditioned transport who has been active between The Netherlands and Switzerland since 1953;
  • Gondrand International AG brings a first rate expertise in customs processing geared specifically towards the particular requirements of the cut flowers business: knowledge of flowers and plants and specific tariffs, care of handling, enable the teams in Basle to bring an efficient customs processing service into the system.
  • On the Swiss distribution side, both specialists of land transport Galliker Transport AG and Gondrand International SA will handle a reliable distribution system. Thanks to their long experiencerience, they have a deep knowledge of the flowers wholesale and retail market based on their extensive and established clients networks.
